Trujillo
Trujillo, redolent with thousands of years of history, and home of the largest mud city in the world.
Just outside of the city, adobe royal complexes and miles of sophisticated canals prefigured Inca architecture and city planning. Mysterious burial pyramids with massive colorful friezes — before the Spanish conquest the largest buildings in the Western Hemisphere — continue to confound archaeologists. Just minutes away lies the sleepy fishing village of Huanchaco, where you can fish for your lunch or go birdwatching in the surrounding reed marshes. |
