Cusco ranked “Best Destination” and “Best Affordable Vacation” by US News
Cusco was chosen as Central and South America’s “Best Place to Visit” and “Best Affordable Vacation” in this year’s world travel ranking by U.S. News & World Report.
“We are proud that Cusco has been recognized above cities like Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires,” Peru’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Magali Silva, said about the U.S. News & World Report ranking. “These awards commit us to keep working so that Peru continues to be on the tip of the tongue worldwide and benefits more Peruvians.”
The Inca Citadel Machu Picchu ran #2 in the Best Affordable Vacation category.
Cusco and Machu Picchu also made the Top 5 list of Family Vacations in Central and South America, ranking #3 and #4 respectively, after Costa Rica and the Galapagos Islands.
U.S. News & World Report publishes its travel rankings every year, reaching more than 214 million readers.
