{"id":7964,"date":"2013-12-02T18:30:01","date_gmt":"2013-12-02T23:30:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/blog\/?p=7964"},"modified":"2023-08-15T19:41:09","modified_gmt":"2023-08-16T00:41:09","slug":"peru-wins-worlds-best-culinary-destination-prize-at-world-travel-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/blog\/2013\/peru-wins-worlds-best-culinary-destination-prize-at-world-travel-awards\/7964\/","title":{"rendered":"Peru wins World&#8217;s Best Culinary Destination prize at World Travel Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>[Originally published December 2, 2013]<\/strong> For the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PeruVacations\/posts\/408636152549320\" rel=\"nofollow\">second consecutive year<\/a>, Peru was designated the World&#8217;s Best Culinary Destination at the prestigious 2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldtravelawards.com\/award-worlds-leading-culinary-destination-2013\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">World Travel Award<\/a>s, held this year in the city of Doha, Qatar.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The prize, given on Saturday, put Peru ahead of a long list of impress\u00a0nominees such as Australia, China, France, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Spain, Thailand and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>But truth be told, many of those countries&#8217; cooking traditions have had a lot to do with the development of <strong>Peruvian food<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Since the Spanish Conquest of the 16th\u00a0century, the Peruvian kitchen has produced one of the world\u2019s original fusion cuisines, formed by a host of outside influences \u2014 from Chinese and African, Japanese and Spaniard, North American and European.
