{"id":5583,"date":"2012-11-18T20:46:13","date_gmt":"2012-11-19T01:46:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/blog\/?p=5583"},"modified":"2019-03-04T09:34:39","modified_gmt":"2019-03-04T14:34:39","slug":"qhapaq-nan-a-symbol-for-the-world-of-multinational-integration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/blog\/2012\/qhapaq-nan-a-symbol-for-the-world-of-multinational-integration\/5583\/","title":{"rendered":"Qhapaq \u00d1an: a symbol for the world of multinational integration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>[Originally published November 18, 2012]<\/strong> During a visit to the headquarters of UNESCO in France, Peruvian President <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espanol.rfi.fr\/cultura\/20121116-ollanta-defiende-en-paris-el-camino-del-inca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ollanta Humala last week spoke<\/a> in favor of the inclusion of the ancient <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/inca-trail-tours\">Inca trail<\/a> highway system Qhapaq \u00d1an onto the World Heritage List.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Peru is one of six Latin American countries \u2014 including Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia and Ecuador \u2014 that have worked for the past three years with the World Heritage Centre in a pioneering multi-national nomination registration process.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/tentativelists\/5547\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5589\" title=\"Qhapaq \u00d1an\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/qhapaq-nan.jpg\" alt=\"Qhapaq \u00d1an\" width=\"355\" height=\"515\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/qhapaq-nan.jpg 355w, https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/qhapaq-nan-206x300.jpg 206w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 355px) 100vw, 355px\" \/><\/a>&#8220;The message of Qhapaq \u00d1an is that a world of integration can be possible,&#8221; Humala said. &#8220;And that these roads not only cross the Andean highlands but also transverse culture, tolerance and the development of opportunities for young people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">[<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/adventure-tours\/cusco-inca-trail-and-machu-picchu-4-days-3-nights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cusco Inca Trail and Machu Picchu 4 days 3 nights<\/a><\/strong>]\n<p>The Qhapaq \u00d1an road network formed the backbone of the Inca Empire\u2019s political and economic power.
