{"id":2168,"date":"2011-01-20T11:25:36","date_gmt":"2011-01-20T16:25:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ferturperu.info\/?p=2168"},"modified":"2019-03-06T18:29:01","modified_gmt":"2019-03-06T23:29:01","slug":"support-the-open-allies-for-airfare-transparency-coalition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/blog\/2011\/support-the-open-allies-for-airfare-transparency-coalition\/2168\/","title":{"rendered":"Support the Open Allies for Airfare Transparency coalition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote><p>Fertur Peru Travel today joins fellow members of the American Society of Travel Agencies (ASTA) in support of the initiative for Full Access to Fare and Fee Information, Transparent Pricing.<\/p><figure><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-10807\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/logo-asta-png-300x188.png\" alt=\"logo-asta-png\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/logo-asta-png-300x188.png 300w, https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/logo-asta-png.png 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure><p><br>\nASTA, along with 115 of the largest travel companies in the United States \u2014 from traditional and online travel agencies to global distribution systems, travel management companies and travel trade associations \u2014 is launching the Open Allies for Airfare Transparency coalition.<\/p><wp-block data-block=\"core\/more\"><\/wp-block><p>The group, which also debuted the FareTransparency.org Web site, is calling for airlines to provide full access to airfare and fee information through the systems they currently use rather than bypass those systems with untested and costly &#8220;direct connect&#8221; systems.<\/p><p>&#8220;Travel agents are the front-line advocates for travelers, and those agents \u2014 from mom-and-pop travel agencies to the largest travel companies in the world \u2014 are overwhelmingly opposed to hidden fares or any system that reduces price transparency,\u201d\u009d said Paul Ruden, Senior Vice President of the American Society of Travel Agents.<\/p><p>&#8220;Our members are some of the airlines\u2019 closest partners,&#8221; he added. &#8220;We hope the airlines reconsider the more fragmented direct connect approach and work with us to make all of their fares and fees available to all travelers through the systems the travelers themselves choose to use.\u201d\u009d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/S3-ZCcviMj4\">Open Allies for Airfare Transparency<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fertur Peru Travel today joins fellow members of the American Society of Travel Agencies (ASTA) in support of the initiative for Full Access to Fare and Fee Information, Transparent Pricing.
