<strong>tuboleto.cultura.pe<\/strong> at midday on 17 November, <strong>tickets for the first five days of January 2026 disappeared in just 12 minutes<\/strong>, according to the Association of Tourism Agencies of Cusco (AATC), <a href=\"https:\/\/tnews.com.pe\/entradas-a-mapi-se-agotaron-en-12-minutos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">T-News reported<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scramble is the clearest sign yet of how intense global demand has become to visit the Inca citadel under the new ticketing rules and capacity limits that will govern Machu Picchu from 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tickets gone before lunch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Direcci\u00f3n Desconcentrada de Cultura de Cusco (DDC Cusco) carried out a public, supervised \u201copening\u201d of the reservation system on 17 November:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>08:00<\/strong> \u2013 system opened for 2026 <em>Camino Inka<\/em> (Inca Trail) permits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>12:00<\/strong> \u2013 system opened for 2026 <em>Llaqta Inka de Machupicchu<\/em> entry tickets<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event was held at DDC Cusco\u2019s offices, with tourism authorities, tour operators and a notary present, and a real-time screen showing how the spaces were being reserved, in an effort to demonstrate transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The spaces for 2, 3, 4 and 5 January 2026 were snapped up almost instantly, and that the most sought-after time slots \u201cdisappeared\u201d in about 12 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"su-button-center\"><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What changes for visiting Machu Picchu in 2026?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re planning ahead, two big changes matter most: <strong>capacity<\/strong> and <strong>circuits\/routes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Higher caps on specific high-season dates<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A new ministerial resolution sets the <strong>maximum daily capacity for 2026<\/strong> as follows:<a April 2026 (Easter period)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>19 June\u20132 November 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>30\u201331 December 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>4,500 visitors per day<\/strong> for the rest of the year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So New Year\u2019s Day 2026 \u2013 one of the dates that just sold out in minutes \u2013 will be one of the highest-capacity days of the entire year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Three circuits, 10 routes \u2013 plus a sixth official Inca Trail route<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since June 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fertur-travel.com\/machu-picchu-tour\/#Machu_Picchu_Circuit_Map_and_Routes\" title=\"\">visiting Machu Picchu means choosing <strong>one of three circuits and 10 defined routes<\/strong><\/a>, each with its own path and viewpoints.
