DAY 1 Arrival to Peruvian Capital
(Monday) Reception and transfer from the airport to the Hotel San Antonio.
DAY 2 Pachacamac Ruins
(Tuesday) Breakfast.
Morning Excursion to Pachacamac Ruins: the temple of the deity, Pachacamac, the creator of the universe and a divinity adored by old Andean civilizations, where thousands of pilgrims converged to pay tribute and consult the Pachacamac oracle, whom they believed could see the past, the future and the fate of all people. The site comprises pyramidal temples and enclosures built by successive pre-Colombian civilizations and finally the Inca.
Lunch at La Casa de Don Cucho, a former hacienda transformed into a sprawling rustic restaurant specializing in classic Peruvian cuisine.
Transfer to Hotel San Antonio to relax.
Night outing for late dinner and floor show at Brisas del Titicaca: a premier showcase of traditional Peruvian dance, food and drink. (B/L/D)
DAY 3 Lima — Iquitos, Board La Esmeralda
(Wednesday) Breakfast and early morning transfer to airport for flight to Iquitos to embark on Majestic Amazon River cruise.
Our adventure begins with a sightseeing bus tour of this 19th century jungle city, including the Casa de Fierro, designed by French architect Gustave Eiffel, and the Clay House of Fitzcarrald, an adobe-brick warehouse that was home and office to Carlos Fermín Fitzcarrald, the early 20th century rubber baron immortalized in the Werner Herzog film Fitzcarraldo. We board our ship and enjoy the diverse scenery as we start avigating and exploring the Amazon River. (B/L/D)
DAY 4 Shaman Ceremony & Tree Top Jungle Excursion
(Thursday) Amazon Culture and the Amazon Natural Park.
The peculiar Amazon Culture has hundreds of years of history and costumes that we will be able to appreciate by interacting with a local community and participating in a ceremony for health and good luck with a Jibaro Ashual Shaman. This afternoon we will get a chance to see the jungle from the tree tops through 300 meters of hanging bridges. (B/L/D)
DAY 5 Pacaya Samiria National Reserve
(Friday) We will spend today exploring this incredible area throughout narrow black water tributaries, home to numerous species of wildlife such as king fishers, toucans, macaws and egrets; troops of capuchin monkey, duskytiti monkey, iguanas, sloths and many other. (B/L/D)
DAY 6 Farewell
(Saturday) Our incredible voyage comes to an end as we arrive to the City of Iquitos for transfer to the airport to begin the journey home. (B)
