Casa Cartagena is named after the Spanish colonial governor of Cusco, Don Fernando Cartagena y Santa Cruz, who lived in the mansion during the 17th century. The original building was restored using traditional techniques and materials: Adobe wall and leather, wood and red ceramic tiles for the roof.

It offers 16 opulant suites (8 standard, 6 master, as well as Presidential and Royal suites), all with butler service.
